My Story

When I first came to the United States, I didn’t step straight into a barbershop. My first job was washing dishes in a restaurant , scrubbing spoons, plates, everything. It was honest work, but I knew it wasn’t for me. It felt too tedious, and deep down, I couldn’t see myself doing it for long. So I quit.

Next, I tried working as a dispatcher for a trucking company. It was a shift, something different ,but again, I felt like something was missing. That’s when I realized I was ignoring a part of me that had been there all along.

Back in my country, I had over 10 years of experience cutting hair. It was something I loved ,the craft, the vibe, the confidence a fresh cut gives people. So I decided to return to what I truly know.

I started working at a barbershop like many barbers do when they arrive here. At first, it felt good to be back in the game , cutting, connecting, creating. But over time, things behind the scenes started to fall apart. The relationship between me and the shop owner became strained, and eventually, I had to walk away.

At that moment, I had no barbershop, no chair, and no real plan ,but I did have my tools, my skills, and a drive to keep going. So I started cutting hair wherever I could — in living rooms, backyards, garages. I brought the barbershop experience directly to the client.

That’s how YOBI CUTZ was born.

What started out of necessity has become something bigger ,a personalized, mobile barbering service that respects people’s time, comfort, and space. Not everyone likes going to barbershops. Some don’t have the time. Some don’t enjoy the waiting. Some just want a fresh cut in their own environment. I get that , and I built YOBI CUTZ with them in mind.

Now, I’m on a mission to grow this movement. I’ve done it solo so far, but I know there are other talented barbers out there who feel the same ,who want freedom, better pay, and real connection with clients. This is just the beginning.

MI HISTORIA

Cuando llegué por primera vez a los Estados Unidos, no entré directamente a una barbería. Mi primer trabajo fue lavando platos en un restaurante — fregando cucharas, platos, todo. Era un trabajo honesto, pero sabía que no era para mí. Se sentía demasiado tedioso, y en el fondo, sabía que no lo podría hacer por mucho tiempo. Así que renuncié.

Después, trabajé como despachador en una empresa de camiones. Fue un cambio, algo diferente, pero nuevamente sentía que me faltaba algo. Fue entonces cuando me di cuenta de que estaba ignorando una parte de mí que siempre había estado presente.

En mi país, tenía más de 10 años de experiencia cortando cabello. Era algo que amaba — el arte, la vibra, la confianza que le da un buen corte a una persona. Así que decidí volver a lo que verdaderamente conocía.

Empecé a trabajar en una barbería, como hacen muchos barberos al llegar aquí. Al principio, se sentía bien estar de vuelta — cortando, conectando, creando. Pero con el tiempo, las cosas detrás del telón empezaron a desmoronarse. La relación con el dueño de la barbería se volvió tensa, y eventualmente tuve que alejarme.

En ese momento, no tenía barbería, ni silla, ni un plan claro — pero sí tenía mis herramientas, mis habilidades, y una determinación por seguir adelante. Así que empecé a cortar cabello donde pudiera — en salas, patios, garajes. Llevé la experiencia de la barbería directamente al cliente.

Así nació YOBI CUTZ.

Lo que comenzó por necesidad, se ha convertido en algo más grande — un servicio de barbería móvil y personalizado que respeta el tiempo, la comodidad y el espacio de las personas. No a todos les gusta ir a una barbería. Algunos no tienen tiempo. Otros no disfrutan la espera. Algunos simplemente quieren un corte fresco en su propio ambiente. Yo lo entiendo — y construí YOBI CUTZ pensando en ellos.

Ahora, estoy en una misión para hacer crecer este movimiento. Hasta ahora lo he hecho solo, pero sé que hay otros barberos talentosos allá afuera que sienten lo mismo — que buscan libertad, mejor pago, y una conexión real con sus clientes. Esto es solo el comienzo.
